A Return To Normalcy – Something For The Weekend

bias

The past year, and especially the last three months, have been chaotic. The free-wheeling press emitted a spew of bias, so blatant, that I felt that I had to create my own counter attack. At first I was embarrassed for the time honored fourth estate, but later, as reality of what they were doing set in, I became angry. I virtually dedicated my blog to the support of Trump and avenging my perceived analysis of political reporting.

What I ended up doing was spewing bias of a different sort, falsely believing that I was creating fairness. I was wrong, and I apologize to all of you.

Bias: Prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.

Antonyms of Bias are: Fairness, Tolerance, Justice, Antipathy, Impartiality. Considerations of fairness.

Debate: A formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward.

What I sould have done, instead of screaming my bias, was study: “Why was the media doing what they were doing?”; “What does Trump really stand for?”; “What did Clinton really stand for?”, and try to debate the facts. I now know the answers to those questions, but I didn’t know them previously because I was too busy screaming, yelling and spewing a biased position.

In his travels Donald Trump listened to the people, heard what they said, and agreed to be their champion. He knew, from the get go, that if he did that, he couldn’t lose. A person that can do that deserves to be the ‘elected head of a republic’.

The Pendulum Has Swung

The American people have spoken, their voices were heard, the Pendulum has swung. What has resonated most soundly with me is the clarity of Trump’s take on the American pulse, and the incredible fight he put forward to make it heard. The Media was against him. The Establishment was against him. His own party was against him. While this was going on, I clearly heard him say, “It doesn’t matter that the Media is Biased, that the Election is rigged, that Republican party is against me, we have a movement, we have the support of the American people”. He was clear and confident that he was speaking the voice of America. It is what held me loyal and true, through thick and thin. I rejoice today, not so much in our win, but in our abilities as Americans to see our future clearly and react.

As hard as it will be, we must all now come together. Not because Trump says so, or Clinton says so, or Obama says so, but because the American people say so.

Who Would You Pick?

Industrious

Donald Trump is out selling ball caps, signed books, lunches with his sons, himself and his daughter, T-shirts, trips on his airplane, reaching into his own pocket, you name it, to raise money for his campaign, beholden to none. Hillary is courting Wall Street, Special Interest Groups and the Uber Wealthy (George Soros types), to get what she wants, indebted to everyone.

To me it is a simple question indeed. WHO DO YOU WANT RUNNING YOUR COUNTRY? WHO WOULD YOU PICK?

I’m Deplorable And I’m Proud

Deplorable

I’M DEPLORABLE AND I’M PROUD

Clinton’s Basket of Deplorables certainly brings up images and thoughts of ‘How the shoe fits‘. The definition of Deplorable is: ‘Deserving of strong condemnation’; ‘Shockingly bad in quality’. Synonyms include: Disgraceful, Shameful, Dishonorable, Unworthy, Unpardonable, Unforgiveable (and more); in other words, pretty bad hombres we deplorables be.

However:

Leaving one of your Ambassadors without protection and security, is a pretty good definition of DISGRACEFUL.

Stealing $200,000 worth of White House property,  is a pretty good definition of SHAMEFUL.

Lying about your e-mails to the FBI,  is a pretty good definition of DISHONORABLE.

And then lying to the American people about the e-mails and the FBI investigation, is a pretty good definition of UNWORTHY.

Deleting 33,000 e-mails just before turning over data to the FBI, is a pretty good definition of UNPARDONABLE.

This whole thing smells of ‘Black Kettles’ and ‘Glass Houses’. If I dug up the entire list, from White Water to the Clinton Foundation I think I could fill a few sheets of 8 1/2 X 11 paper with alternate definitions. Whether exhausted by the flu, pooped by the campaign trail, fatigued by embattlement, Hillary needs to either get new speechwriters or read her speeches before they start rolling by on the teleprompters. Whatever the case, she was inexcuseably off mark, off base and off color with her statement. Gee, what do you know, another defenition, and I wasn’t even trying.

IF THE SHOE FITS, Madam Secretary, WEAR IT, DON’T SWEAR IT.

A Border Fence Is Not Isolationsim

Border Fence

Building a Border Fence is not ISOLATIONISM.  Isolationism is defined as: a policy of remaining apart from the affairs or interests of other groups, especially the political affairs of other countries.

We are surrounded on two and a half sides by Oceans, Gulfs and Great Lakes (95,000 miles or 93%), one side by a country that mutually respects borders (5,525 miles or 5%), and one half side by people who disrespect borders (1,989 miles or 2%). If we are labled isolationists today it is by geographical conditions only and certainly not by political choice.

The United States was Isolationist from its inception until 1941. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, we began to intermingle in the affairs and interests 0f other groups. Once that event happened, there was no turning back to Isolationism by the United States. We mingled in North Africa, Southern Europe, England, and Western Europe and the Pacific as a direct result of WWII. Since then we have mingled in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, The Koreas, the Vietnams and on and on, spreading the word of democracy; sometimes successfully, sometimes not. The United States mindset is not Isolationist.

Drug running across the border began in earnest in the 70’s, human trafficing, beginning at the turn of the century, flourished in the 70’s anad 80’s and still goes strong today; along with other illegal activities such as money laundering, contraband and sex trafficing. In the pursuit of illegal activities come the bad guys and undesireables. Left leaning policies of the 80’s made the situation worse. A sanctuary city is a city in the United States or Canada that adopts local policies designed to not prosecute people solely for being an illegal alien, which we now see has been taken to extremes.

Because of the North American appetite fed by the illegal Central and South American supply lines flourish, there can be no doubt that the level of abuse has reached epidemic proportion, and every responsible citizen wants it stopped. A wall is inevitable, 16,500 more patrolmen are inevitable.

Plagiarism, I Think Not.

Plagiarism

As usual, the liberal left has dug hard to find a negative in the RNC bash last night, and quickly announced that Melania Trump, in her marveolous speech, plagiarized Michele Obama. This time the media has really screwed up, and I am sick and tired or the liberal press and the left leaning media in general constantly leading their RNC reporting of the news with a negative.

“Work hard for what you want”, “Treat people with respect”, “The strength of your dreams is defined by your willingness to work for them”. COME ON PEOPLE, WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU HEARD THAT? Was is Michele Obama in 2008? Was it Melania Trump in 2016? Nope, I don’t think so. (As a First Generation American born son of Danish Immigrants, Melania’s speech was Deja Vu – all over again.)

I can tell you the first time I heard it. It was sometime in my Junior Year in High School (1955) when my Coach pulled me aside one day. I heard it again from my Mother (1956) as I struggled with High School. And I heard it again (1956) when my Dad took me to a bus station to get on a Greyhound bound for boot camp. If Melania plagiarized Michele Obama, then Michele Obama plagiarized every responsible American mother and father since 1776.

God Damn it liberal media, wise up and knock it off. Your bias is so blatant, it is embarassing.

I also noticed that the stellar press didn’t draw any comparisons by Michele to Melania’s speech about her love of her new Country and her hard earned Citizenship. In comparison, what was it that Michele Obama said on February 18, 2008? I think it went something like this. “This is the first time in my adult life that I have been proud of my country.” Interestingly enough, Melania didn’t plagiarize that proud American statement.
